PARIS-MARCIGNY : L’ÉCRITURE DES PAS

Pendant 13 jours, j’inscris l’empreinte de mon pas dans le monde. Mon corps devient pinceau sur la peau de la terre. Chaque jour, mon bâton de marche se transmute peu à peu en totem, captant les particules du chemin, les énergies des lieux traversés, tandis que la poussière devient matière première, mémoire tangible de mon passage. Les artefacts collectés – élastiques abandonnés, fragments, traces, vestiges d’instants disséminés – tissent le récit des territoires parcourus.

Dans le prolongement de cette marche, les 19 totems exposés, totalisant 6 270 km de marche, se dressent comme des haltes, en écho à la performance, prolongeant son mouvement et sa mémoire. Chacun est une empreinte hétérogène, témoin suspendu des kilomètres parcourus.

Ainsi, mouvement et matière s’entrelacent. Ma marche actualise et prolonge cette écriture, où chaque pas trace, chaque rencontre nourrit, chaque collecte transforme. La Vitrine devient un réceptacle ouvert : ADN, artefacts, textes, images et traces GPS se conjuguent, faisant émerger le récit d’un corps en mouvement.

“Paris–Marcigny: The Writing of Footsteps” is an action in two movements: a 350 km performative walk between Paris and Marcigny, from April 21 to May 3, 2025, and an exhibition of totems — witnesses of a stratified memory.

For 13 days, I inscribe the imprint of my step upon the world. My body becomes a brush on the skin of the earth. Each day, my walking stick gradually transmutes into a totem, capturing particles of the path, the energies of the places I pass through, while the dust becomes raw material — a tangible memory of my passage. The collected artefacts — abandoned hair ties, fragments, traces, remnants of scattered moments — weave the narrative of the territories traversed.

In the continuation of this walk, the 19 totems on display, totaling 6,270 km of walking, stand like halts — echoes of the performance, extending its movement and memory. Each one is a heterogeneous imprint, a suspended witness of the kilometers covered.

Thus, movement and matter intertwine. My walk actualizes and extends this writing, where each step draws, each encounter nourishes, each gathering transforms. La Vitrine becomes an open receptacle: DNA, artefacts, texts, images, and GPS traces converge, revealing the narrative of a body in motion.
